We were only in Męcinka for six weeks when we were moved again.[1] This time, however, we only moved to the neighbouring village of Jedlicze which was only half an hour's walk from Męcinka, so we frequently commuted back and forth between the two villages. Once I got a visit from Sofia who was cycling through the village with an acquaintance. I had just had a siesta and went to her on the street, still quite sleepy. We only spoke a few trivial sentences to each other. It was not the place for conversation. The companion had delicately moved a little away. Then they drove on. It was our last encounter. I never saw her again. Only a few photos had remained with me.
