10 Mar. Another 50 officers carried off. - The health examination confirms that I am unfit for work. Malnourished. Of the 380 officers, 206 are malnourished = 52% - Religious service is forbidden. Therefore we do it secretly. After dark we go individually and inconspicuously to the infirmary. One of the paramedics is a Catholic clergyman. At an agreed knock, he lets us into his living quarters, where we then silently celebrate Holy Mass. Like the first Christians in the catacombs. There are usually about 12 of us. The priest gets communion wine and hosts through secret channels from Riga.
