As BP in Smolensk, one of the photos taken at that time, dated on the back Dec. 47^[1]

8 Dec (?)^[1] Near our building site^[2], in the next cross street, there is a photo shop. Hans Sölheim and I decide to have our picture taken. So we leave the building site and go to the shop. Here we let the young woman take a few Photomaton pictures, which we then pick up a few days later. Looking at my picture, Hans notices that I actually look like a bank robber (see picture). I sent one of these pictures home on a Red Cross card.
