8 Feb 46. 98 distrophics (= 22 %). The number of undernourished is increasing rapidly. A doctor coming from another camp consoles us: In his camp there were 6-7000 German prisoners of war. Of these, 700 had died within the first 4 months. Our soldiers are physically and psychologically exhausted by the efforts of the last war period and have hardly any power of resistance. And with this inhumane treatment and deprivation of rations, they are dropping like flies.
