Our next destination is Kirowa. The drive takes us across the endless plains of Ukraine with their vast fields of grain and sunflowers. The huge fields stretch as far as the eye can see. Kilometre after kilometre, our car speeds past them, and there is nothing to be seen but seemingly endless fields of sunflowers.
In Kirowa we spend the night in the club room of a factory. The walls of this meeting room are hung with red banners with communist slogans written in golden letters. Of course, there are also pictures of Lenin and Stalin hanging between them.
