1 Aug 49. 8 men receive karzer. The Russian threatens and blackmails until the last hour: Only those who accomplish 100% will go home. In terms of rations, the last year was not bad, but the atmosphere in the camp was heavily strained by the “last minute panic”, the resulting denunciations, betrayals, interrogations and the like. In this respect, it was one of the worst years, even though I personally was mostly spared.
